A good physician practices preventative medicine.  At Poyner & Poyner, LLP, we practice preventative law.

You are invited to consult personally with Jessica J. Poyner or Elizabeth M. Hollis, concerning either your own estate planning needs or another matter regarding your involvement in, or concerns with, another’s estate, probate, or trust.

Your consultation will last approximately one hour at a cost of $325.  This fee does not include assistance in the preparation or completion of any written forms or document and does not result in an attorney/client relationship.  However, if you do retain us, your paid consultation fee will be deducted from your first bill.

When we are retained as your attorneys, you will become a client and we will then advise you, draft the needed documents and prepare or amend your estate plan to achieve the goals that are important to you and your family.  Our job is to anticipate problems and have the legal mechanisms to resolve them in place before the IRS, disappointed relatives, and trial attorneys begin to circle your estate.

ESTATE PLANNING

__________________

Whether you currently have an estate plan, or you need to begin your planning, an attorney will discuss your personal situation and based upon your goals they will answer your questions and offer suggestions.  Yes, avoiding taxes and probate are important, but of more importance is how, when and to whom your estate will be distributed.  If you are married, both you and your spouse should plan to attend.

ESTATE ADMINISTRATION
____________________

To whom, by whom and when will the decedent’s assets be distributed?  Did the decedent leave instructions in a will or a living trust?  Were assets held in joint Tenancy or in an IRA or retirement plan?  Was there any life insurance?  An attorney will review the facts and provide you with personalized assistance in meeting your legal obligations to the beneficiaries as well as addressing tax issues and coordinating with your other advisors.
